My Soulful Encounter with the Sea ! 🌊☁️πŸ’™✨

Living in the misty hills of Kandy, my world is often painted in shades of green and surrounded by cold winds. While the mountains offer a sense of protection and calm, the vast, blue ocean has always been a rare and distant dream for me. Since I live in the Central Province, the beach isn't a place I can visit whenever I please.

Recently, I had a brief chance to escape to the coast while traveling to Colombo with my sister. She works at the Department of Irrigation , and since her office is located in the heart of Colombo, the ocean was just a short distance away. We didn't have much time, and our visit was hurried, but those few minutes by the shore felt like an eternity of peace πŸŒ¬❤️.

As I stood there, watching the endless horizon where the sky kisses the water, I felt a strange sense of liberation. In Kandy, our view is often blocked by tall trees and mountains, but at the beach, there is nothing but openness. The rhythmic sound of the crashing waves seemed to wash away all my stress, leaving my mind quiet and still. The salty breeze felt like a gentle whisper, telling me to let go of everything for a moment.

When it was time to head back to the hustle and bustle of the city, and eventually back to the hills, I felt a deep pang of sadness. It felt as if I was leaving a part of my soul behind in the sand. As the bus moved away, I found myself staring at the fading blue line of the sea, already wishing I could turn back.

To many, the beach is just a travel destination. But to a girl from the mountains like me, it is a sanctuary of freedom and healing. Even though the visit was short, the serenity I found there will stay with me until the waves call me back again.
